World-class trout fishing, expert guides, unforgettable river days

Located in the heart of central Tennessee, the Caney Fork River is one of the Southeast’s top destinations for trout fishing. Fed by cold, clear water released from the base of Center Hill Dam, the river is regularly stocked with rainbow, brown, and brook trout by the TWRA, giving you a chance to catch all three species in a single trip.

Whether you're new to fishing or a seasoned angler, our guides know how to put you on the fish—and help you have a great time doing it.

More Than Just Trout

While trout are the star of the show, the Caney Fork is also home to a variety of other species. Thanks to its confluence with the Cumberland River, the Caney welcomes a dozen or more species throughout the year, including striper, smallmouth bass, and panfish. Some stay year-round; others appear during seasonal spawning runs—no two trips are the same.

Guided Trips, Tailored to Your Skill Level

Our float trips focus primarily on trout fishing, but in the right seasons (late January–May and again September–December), we also actively target the Caney Fork’s thriving striper population.

When you book, just let us know which species you’d like to target—we’ll let you know what’s in season and give you honest insight into recent fishing success. We adjust locations and strategies based on water levels and dam release schedules, giving you the best shot at a productive day.

Meet Your Guide, Tom Stanley

Tom Stanley is a former whitewater raft guide with experience on the New, Gauley, Youghiogheny, Chattooga and Ocoee and Nolichucky rivers. In addition to his commercial rafting experience, he managed several rafting outfitter companies. He also kayaked many of the smaller whitewater rivers up and down the east coast. While working on the New RIver in West Virginia, Tom helped develop and run smallmouth  bass fishing trips that were extremely successful and popular with the clientele. After leaving the whitewater industry in the mid 1980's, Tom started a smallmouth fishing company on the James River in central Virginia, aptly named "Go with the Flow." Tom has logged thousands of river miles during his career  and uses this experience to control the boat and offer you the best chance at landing fish. Tom has twelve years experience  on the Caney Fork and has helped clients land upwards of a dozen different species of fish on this river. Tom loves to fish and will share his knowledge and expertise with you to maximize your success.
